Soendergaard Design was set up in 1995 by Danish born potter Lars P. Soendergaard Gregersen.
From his early years Lars had a keen interest in pottery. This was encouraged by his late uncle Reinhold Soendergaard Gregersen, himself a well-known artist in Denmark.
In 1981 Lars took up a 4-year apprenticeship with the Danish studio pottery Brangstrup Stoneware. After graduating Lars worked for several potteries in Denmark as a potter and designer.
In 1993 Lars moved to London to work as a production manager with a company making ceramic tabletops and in 1995 started his own business. Lars works in the Scandinavian tradition of design and function. All the designs are hand-thrown in porcelain by himself and finished in glazes using only natural pigments.
His present client list includes Heal’s; Barneys; Nicole Farhi; Designers Guild; David Mellor and has also shown at the Chelsea Crafts Fair.
