Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts in 1992, Emma Brownjohn has enjoyed working as a freelance illustrator, painter and muralist. The books she has illustrated have been published by Penguin, Tango, Chrysalis and The Ivy Press. Other published commissions include The Independent, The Daily Mail, Waitrose, House Beautiful, Bella, Zest, Women’s Health, BBC Good Food, Ideal Home, Mizz, Nectar, Boots, Quarto Books, Time Warner, Scholastic and The Asthma Foundation.

Emma has painted over 35 murals for a variety of clients including Absolut Vodka, Garfunkels, Zel Grain, Brothers and various restaurants, bars, cinemas, shops and private houses around the world. She has travelled extensively, and her personal work is influenced by memories and experiences of colours, stories and images encountered along the way. Exhibitions include The Quaker Gallery, Loco Gallery and Sussex Open.
Now settled in Brighton for a while, Emma is concentrating on documenting the effect of the changing seasons on the beautiful Sussex landscape.
