Emma Brownjohn

Emma finds inspiration in personal experiences, whether a line of a poem or a glimpse of a fluorescent jacket in a grey city. Her work is influenced by memories and experiences of colours, stories and images of her extensive travel. Emma now lives in Brighton and is working on documenting the effect of the changing seasons in the landscape.

Artist Biography

Emma Brownjohn graduated with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art Illustration from Camberwell College of Arts in 1992. Since graduating she has worked and travelled extensively as a successful freelance illustrator and muralist. Commissions for her work include Harrods, Coca Cola, The Independent, Penguin, Ladybird, Boots and Absolut Vodka. She has also written and illustrated her own series of children’s educational books. Now solely concentrating on painting, she has exhibited successfully throughout the UK and Europe.
