“Barbara’s paintings and her delightful narratives make me smile everyday”

Barbara Peirson

Barbara Peirson is based in the coastal town of Wivenhoe where the sea and land merge in mud flats, marshland and flooded fields. She goes out most mornings along the estuary to see the dawn, the ebb and flow of the tide, migrating birds and small fishing boats leaving and returning. Primarily interested in figures and landscapes, Barbara is a storyteller and captures these fleeting moments in time in her paintings. Painting is a continuum for her, threading through everything in her day to day life. She works mainly in acrylics; the process is of layer upon layer of adjustment. She works from her studio next to her kitchen at home.
